The Prophets — A Warning Call for Preparation
“I am your watchman. I see what is ahead. And I plead with you: Turn to Jesus Christ. The days ahead will test every foundation not built upon Him.”
Perched high upon a stone tower, the watchman sees what others cannot. His voice rises above the noise of the world—a warning call, urgent and piercing. Yet below him, the people respond in three ways: some awaken and heed the cry, rallying their families to prepare; others lie in apathetic slumber, unmoved by the danger; and still others, angered by his alarm, rise up to tear down the tower itself. This is the age-old drama of prophecy: the burden of foresight in a world unwilling to see.
The prophetic call is not a message of panic—but of preparation. From ancient times until now, God has raised up prophets to stand upon the watchtower and cry warning to His people. Their voices are not meant to blend with the world, but to pierce it. And in every generation, the message is the same: Repent. Return. Ready yourselves. For the Lord is coming, and all things not grounded in Him will fall.
1. Come Unto Christ—Now
“Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him.”
The prophets always begin by inviting all people—regardless of nation, creed, or status—to come unto Christ. Not as a distant concept, but as a living, covenantal reality. The storm that is coming is not merely political, economic, or ecological—it is spiritual. And only in Christ will we be safe.
2. Do Not Trust in the Arm of Flesh
“Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man…”
Governments will fail. Institutions will be shaken. Leaders will fall. But God will not. The prophets warn us that the days of trusting in human systems for salvation—economic, medical, or social—are over. We must learn to hear the voice of the Lord ourselves and follow His servants.
3. Strengthen Your Home as a Sanctuary
“Stand ye in holy places, and be not moved…”
In the days ahead, the most critical holy place may not be the chapel—but your home. The prophet has urged us to restore family prayer, daily scripture study, and meaningful Sabbath worship—not as rituals to check off, but as lifelines to God. When institutions falter or access is limited, the strength of your home will determine your peace. We cannot abdicate this responsibility to the Church or any other organization—for their ability to provide spiritual support has been and may again be taken away. The home must rise. The Spirit must reign there. And the family must be led in righteousness by covenant keepers who do not flinch when the winds blow.
4. Keep Your Covenants—They Are Protection
Prophetic Counsel
“There is a power in the covenant people of God.”
Temples will become increasingly vital, not just symbolically but spiritually and literally. Covenants are not formalities—they are spiritual armor. Prophets have said: get endowed, stay worthy, go often. Because God honors covenants even when the world collapses and encourages us to break every oath, covenant, and bond of fellowship.
5. Prepare Temporally—Not in Fear, But in Wisdom
“If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.”
The call to temporal preparation has been clear and unapologetic. Food storage, financial frugality, and community resilience are not “doomsday” ideas—they are divine patterns of prudence. Saints have always been a people who look ahead and act in faith. Simplicity, restraint, and provident living lead to peace, freedom from debt, and a life centered on eternal, not material, priorities.
6. Repent—Today, Not Tomorrow
“Behold, now is the day of your salvation.”
The prophets do not coddle us with vague platitudes. They declare: Repent. Get your house in order. Forgive quickly. Cleanse your life of hidden sin. Let go of pride and rebellion. Because judgment begins with the man in the mirror—and it’s up to him to choose change.
7. Do Not Be Deceived by False Compassion
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil…”
Satan’s most powerful tool in our day is counterfeit love. The adversary now wears a smile. He preaches love, but denies truth. He offers healing, but severs the Healer. He comforts you into spiritual death. Like a toad sitting calmly in a warming kettle, we may not notice the rising heat—until it’s too late. What begins as soothing ends in destruction. What seems like compassion, tolerance, and kindness may become cruelty in disguise—hardening hearts and rejecting God.
8. Gather Israel—Share the Gospel with Boldness
“This is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.”
The final labor of the Saints is not retreat. It is to gather. The prophet would say: Open your mouth. Flood the earth with truth. Testify boldly of Christ. Every soul matters. Every day counts, every word carries weight. Doubt not fear not, but be believing for we can clearly say “Be at peace and remember — that he is God.”
9. Brace for Division—But Stand in Light
“Think not that I am come to send peace… but a sword.”
The prophets have never promised cultural comfort. In fact, they forewarn us: Discipleship in the coming days will cost. Reputation, relationships, even safety may be sacrificed. But still they say: Stand. Shine. Speak truth even if it costs you everything. Because eternal joy is worth any earthly price.
10. The Lord Is Hastening His Work—Stay Awake
“Behold, I come quickly.”
Time is shorter than we think. The prophets plead: Don’t delay. Don’t drift. Don’t sleep through the final act. Stay in the boat. Listen to the watchman on the tower. Zion will rise—but only those watching, listening, and obeying will be part of it.
